When you come for the first time, the session will generally begin by sitting and talking with your therapist about any of your health concerns. Together you will discuss a brief health history and what you would like to get out of the session. After that you will be invited to lay on the massage table, fully clothed, in a comfortable and supported way. The session can take place in complete silence and it can also be that there will be some dialogues. Insights and a deeper connection with your body can be established.

“Craniosacral stimulates the self-healing capacity of your body”

When the session begins your therapist will check with you to make sure that you are comfortable. It is important that you feel comfortable and safe at all times so that you may want to ask for any adjustments for lighting, temperature, etc. Your therapist may ask you from time to time what you are experiencing, and will help you to stay present with whatever your experience is. You may always express anything you want to share stay in silence. The session is a communication (verbal and non-verbal) between you, your body and the therapist. The therapist will also check from time to time whether a touch is right for you. As the session work involves a very light gentle touch it is important that it is the touch that feels right for you.

Depending of your area of concern and of what the body is showing, the therapist can go to different places of your body. During that time, the therapist will quietly, gently hold parts of your body, listening to the subtle rhythms and tracking changes in your system. In this process the therapist will listen for your body’s expression of the order of priorities for this particular session which will lead to your desired outcome. Usually the session begins with connection with the feet or shoulders. By following the pace of the body and listening on a deeper level what the body wants to tell a deep relaxation is enhanced and the body is invited to take in its maximum space that it needs to feel free.

During the session, you may:

  • Relax so deeply that you fall asleep
  • Enter a quiet meditation-like state
  • Experience memories or insights while on the table
  • Enjoy a pleasant sense of warmth, softening, widening or floating
  • At times, you may experience other kinds of sensations as energy that has been held in the body is released.

If this occurs, just stay present with your breath and bodily sensations and allow this energy to discharge. The session quite often involves a process of letting go of patterns that inhibit your health and vitality. Once these patterns begin to shift, the therapist may notice changes in your fluids, tissues and bones. You may experience a sense of integration in your body, mind and spirit.

At the end of the session, you may:

  • Feel relaxed, but also energized
  • Find yourself breathing more fully and deeply
  • Stand straighter and taller
  • Feel more comfortable in your body
  • Feel a new sense of peace and ease
  • Notice an improvement in your sleep patterns

A session costs $ 66 for 1 hour (relaxation-session) and $ 99 ($ 88 Kama’aina) for 90 minutes (which is advised for deeper emotional bodywork). Together we will see how many sessions are needed or desired. Though it is important to note that while a single session can have noticeable effects, it often takes multiple sessions to achieve the results you are seeking.
